A 6-0 week in Southern States Athletic Conference play was enough to propel the Auburn Montgomery back into the sixth spot in the fifth 2013 NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 poll, which was released by the national office earlier today.
The Warhawks (34-5, 12-4 SSAC) rose back above Oklahoma City after dropping to seventh last week. AUM received 491 points, and is currently just 28 points out of the top five.
Concordia (Calif.) remained in the top spot, with Lubbock Christian moving up to No. 2 for the first time since the preseason poll. The two teams are the only programs in the NAIA with 40 or more wins this year. Cal State San Marcos fell to third, while Lee and Williams Baptist continue to round out the top five.
Belhaven (No. 9), William Carey (No. 14), Brenau (No. 18) and Spring Hill (No. 22) also represent the SSAC in the rankings.
